Home Transition Specialists Inc™:
A Journey Rooted in Purpose and Compassion

Since the inception of Home Transition Specialists, I've been asked many times—Why?
Why build a business focused on seniors? What do you know about being a senior? How can you relate when you're not an older adult caring for a senior loved one?

Let me share the "why" that drives me every day and a bit about the "how" this journey began.

  • I am the first-born granddaughter of an extraordinary man—my Opa.

    He was smart, hardworking, determined, and above all, the most loving person I've ever known.

    He taught me everything he could about life, often repeating lessons to ensure I truly understood them.

    He was my biggest cheerleader, always reminding me that there was nothing I couldn't achieve if I put my mind to it.

    My Opa was everything to me, and I was his #1—his trusted companion, the only one allowed to barbecue dinners.

    In 2019, my world shifted. My Opa fell and, tragically, succumbed to his injuries.

    By the end of that year, my grandmother downsized their family home of 53 years, and I was there with her through every painful step of the journey.

    It was during this time, as I helped her transition, that I had a lightbulb moment—I finally knew what I wanted to do with my life.

    At nearly 40 years old, I found my calling. I immersed myself in research, resigned from my corporate job, and never looked back.

  • My purpose became clear: to prevent other families from enduring the same heartbreak we did.

    If I could advocate for seniors, especially those whose families are far away or who may have no one to support them, I knew my work would be meaningful.

    Whether it was helping a newly widowed person find clarity in their new living situation, preventing a fall, or easing heartache for another family, I wanted to make a difference.

    Through countless relocations, aging in place plans, and home safety assessments, I like to believe I've done just that.

  • My mission and purpose have grown.

    I want to reach more families, more seniors, and support their caregivers as well.

    I've expanded Home Transition Specialists Inc™ to provide more help, reach more people, and prevent unnecessary and avoidable hardships.

    My goal is to educate older adults so they can make informed choices willingly, rather than being forced into decisions by detrimental circumstances.

    At Home Transition Specialists Inc™, we believe that no one should face these transitions alone.

    Our compassionate approach and comprehensive services are designed to empower seniors, preserve their independence, and reduce the burden on caregivers.

    By doing so, we hope to touch as many lives as possible, ensuring that every senior can age with dignity, safety, and peace of mind.

  • On a dark day in my life when it came time to sell my family home and downsize, Home Transitions Specialists came and offered solid advice.

    They asked all the important questions about what I needed to take with me to my new residence and helped build a plan which included my most valuable pieces and possessions.

    This brought me great comfort knowing that I would continue to have these pieces and memories

    They sorted, purged, and sent plenty of heirlooms to my children and grandchildren to be passed along for generations to come.

    From that point, they organized the packing as well as the movers. They helped with my new place and decorated it in such a fashion that I felt as though it was my home away from home.

    All the cupboards and closets were beautifully organized and they maximized the storage space to full capabilities.

    It was the best step in my life and I am thankful that Cassandra and Home Transition Specialists were here for me.

  • After my mother passed away, I had to renovate the house and put it on the market.

    Kathy was very organized and efficient at packing up all my mother's possessions.

    Everything was labeled and stored in a spare room so that I could complete the renovations.

    What I appreciated most was her compassion. She knew I wasn't ready to sort through all the memories and respectfully packed it all as per my wishes.
